Capital Weather Gang@capitalweather·
2:45 p.m. Thursday — Snow lingering east of I-95 after accumulating up to an inch to the west Precipitation, mostly snow, is pretty much done west of D.C. and Interstate-95, but not before producing an impressive accumulation considering temperatures near to above 80 degrees the past two days. The back edge of the precipitation will continue to gradually advance southeast through the region. It should be south and east of the Beltway by around 3:30 p.m., clearing Southern Maryland by around 4:30 p.m. Snow accumulations have been mostly on grass, cars and decks, but some snow stuck to some roads and sidewalks for a time in areas west of the Beltway. Here is a list of accumulation reports from the National Weather Service. Herndon, Va.: 1 inch Woodbridge, Va.: 1 inch Chantilly, Va.: 0.9 inches Damascus, Md.: 0.6 inches Dulles Airport: 0.6 inches Tysons Corner, Va.: 0.5 inches Ashburn, Va.: 0.4 inches Gaithersburg, Md.: 0.4 inches Reagan National Airport: 0.1 inches (Photo of snow in Reston, Va., by Andrew Chapman)
