SHOC is proud to welcome another new colleague! Charlotte Van Riet recently joined our research group as a PhD researcher. Co-supervised by Bart Lambert, she will work on the medieval urbanisation in the Low Countries. Welcome, Charlotte!

From 1/11/2024, Alice Vittoria will join the FORAGENCY project as a postdoc researcher! Her research is on the impact of colonialism on the relationship of local communities with the environment in Central Africa, with a specific focus on medicinal plants and healing.

Meet Brent Huygh, new SHOC member and PhD researcher! Brent will be working on the project “Village(r)s in Court: Judicial Empowering Interactions between Subjects and Government in Rural Brabant and Limburg (17th and 18th century)”, supervised by Prof. Dr. Klaas Van Gelder.
