The City is implementing the Intersection Safety Camera Program to reduce the number of traffic violations, crashes, and injuries caused by red-light runners. August 1-31, the program will start with a warning period. Beginning September 1, violators will receive a $158 fine.

All northbound lanes of Collins Ave are currently shut down at the 19200 block (in front of the Ramada) due to a vehicle fire. The fire has been extinguished and there are no reported injuries. Northbound traffic is being diverted through the bus lane, but delays are expected.

Congrats to our four detectives who were recently sworn in as Human Trafficking Task Force Officers with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office. With this addition, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department now has six task force officers dedicated to combating human trafficking.
