With all 24 precincts reporting, unofficial results show Dean Wilson has won the primary race for Buchanan County Assessor with over 51% of the vote and will move on to the general election in November.

While Blacksnake Creek is high, the City now says it is unlikely that flooding will occur. City workers could be seen clearing large logs from a screen leading into the combined sewer system near the ballfields off of St. Joseph Ave. More on News-Press NOW.

During today's COVID-19 work session, the Director of St. Joseph's Public Works department announced that this week's heavy rains could cause flooding on the city's north side due to high water levels in Blacksnake Creek. He said they are monitoring the situation.

The following is a statement from the St. Joseph Police Department regarding a viral video that shows an off-duty officer in an altercation with a man. An investigation is underway.

ALERT: I-29 mile marker 82 southbound Traffic is at a standstill due to a wide load stuck in lanes narrowed for bridge construction. MoDOT & contractors are working with law enforcement to clear the vehicle. No ETA for clearance at this time.

The St. Joseph City Council has just decided to allow the emergency order to expire next week, meaning all requirements currently in place for COVID-19 prevention will be lifted. The City will still strongly suggest that people distance themselves and practice proper hygiene.
