I was watching Sky Sports News earlier when they were talking about who the next #MUFC manager should be?. Don't get me wrong, I love Michael Carrick, He's done a good job so far, but for me, it doesn't matter who the next permanent manager will be, I think the next guy is stepping into a very toxic environment that will hold them back and ultimately fail! it's really no coincidence why we have had so many managers since Sir Alex retired. The foundations built since Glazers bought the club, made worse with Sir Jim Ratcliffe coming in, will not allow any manager to come in and be successful long term, the whole hierarchy is broken! So they can bring in whoever they want, it will never work while we have the people above who are there, that's not me being negative, that's just me saying exactly how it is, we need Glazers and the incompetent structure out, and replacing them with people who actually want to make United the best football team, with a structure who knows what they are doing, It's the only way, if we are to ever see true change for the better.

"In my life, I have watched John Kennedy talk on television about missiles in Cuba. I saw Lyndon Johnson look Richard Russell squarely in the eye and and say, "And we shall overcome." I saw Richard Nixon resign and Gerald Ford tell the Congress that our long national nightmare was over. I saw Jimmy Carter talk about malaise and Ronald Reagan talk about a shining city on a hill. I saw George H.W. Bush deliver the eulogy for the Soviet bloc, and Bill Clinton comfort the survivors of Timothy McVeigh's madness in Oklahoma City. I saw George W. Bush struggle to make sense of it all on September 11, 2001, and I saw Barack Obama sing 'Amazing Grace' in the wounded sanctuary of Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston, South Carolina. "These were the presidents of my lifetime. These were not perfect men. They were not perfect presidents, god knows. Not one of them was that. But they approached the job, and they took to the podium, with all the gravitas they could muster as appropriate to the job. They tried, at least, to reach for something in the presidency that was beyond their grasp as ordinary human beings. They were not all ennobled by the attempt, but they tried nonetheless. "And comes now this hopeless, vicious buffoon, and the audience of equally hopeless and vicious buffoons who laughed and cheered when he made sport of a woman whose lasting memory of the trauma she suffered is the laughter of the perpetrators. Now he comes, a man swathed in scandal, with no interest beyond what he can put in his pocket and what he can put over on a universe of suckers, and he does something like this while occupying an office that we gave him, and while endowed with a public trust that he dishonors every day he wakes up in the White House. "The scion of a multigenerational criminal enterprise, the parameters of which we are only now beginning to comprehend. A vessel for all the worst elements of the American condition. And a cheap, soulless bully besides. We never have had such a cheap counterfeit of a president* as currently occupies the office. We never have had a president* so completely deserving of scorn and yet so small in the office that it almost seems a waste of time and energy to summon up the requisite contempt. "Watch how a republic dies in the empty eyes of an empty man who feels nothing but his own imaginary greatness, and who cannot find in himself the decency simply to shut up even when it is in his best interest to do so. Presidents don't have to be heroes to be good presidents. They just have to realize that their humanity is our common humanity, and that their political commonwealth is our political commonwealth, too. Watch him behind the seal of the President of the United States. Isn't he a funny man? Isn't what happened to that lady hilarious? Watch the assembled morons cheer. This is the only story now." - Charles Pierce

@israel_ajoje I don't want to see any ads. Then again, I don't want to see the US hosting. I am most likely boycotting this one for that reason, which is a very difficult decision for me. The last thing we need in football is the US-ification of the sport we all love.

FIFA just turned a player welfare measure into a commercial product, and honestly, I don't think you should be surprised. We all saw it coming. Let me stop talking in parables. Here is what is going on. FIFA has confirmed that every match at the 2026 World Cup will have a mandatory three-minute hydration break midway through each half. I don't mean at half time. I mean around the 23rd and 68th minute of each match. Basically, instead of having 2 halves, we will be having 4 quarters. They announced it as a player welfare initiative, and to be fair, that part has some truth to it. Several 2026 venues in the United States will have serious heat and humidity during the summer, and heat management in football is a real concern. Water breaks have been used in domestic football for years under specific weather conditions. So the welfare argument is not completely made up. But then FIFA told broadcasters they could sell advertisements during those breaks, and that is where the conversation changed. Just take a stop and think about what that means. 104 matches at the 2026 World Cup. Three minutes of commercial inventory, twice per game. That is over 200 guaranteed advertisement breaks that did not exist before, sold to broadcast partners in every territory around the world. The NFL has built a massive part of its revenue model around exactly this, commercial breaks engineered into stoppages so broadcasters can sell airtime without cutting into the action. FIFA just borrowed that playbook and used player welfare as the entry point. Here is the thing about football that makes this significant. The sport has always been attractive globally partly because it flows. Ninety minutes, minimal interruption, continuous action. That is not a small thing. It is part of why football translates across cultures in a way other sports do not. Planned advertisement breaks in the middle of each half changes that experience, and I am almost certain that fans will feel it even if they cannot explain exactly why. I feel like the experience will be different. Does it bother you as a fan, or is it just the reality of modern football? Let me know in the comments section. My name is Ajoje. I am a FIFA Licensed Agent and International Sports Lawyer. I write on the Law and Business of Football-a lot. Repost and Follow if you want to read more posts like this.

Surprise! The Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post is against my 5% billionaire wealth tax. I wonder why? If enacted, Bezos would owe $12 billion in taxes, and an average family of 4 would receive a $12,000 direct payment. Poor Jeff would be left with just $224 billion to survive.

@markgoldbridge No. It's just nostalgia vibes. We will get top 4 but it's still the same thin and fickle squad Amorim had. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, @sistoney67, or write some more articles referencing Amorim's time at the club disparagingly. Hack.

Pep openly criticised a new referee to his face in a PL game for having the temerity to stick by his decision and the poor ref has not been seen since. That is the influence those criminals at @ManCity have on the @FA_PGMOL.

@markgoldbridge It's now a two horse race between the sports washing cheaters and WWE corner FC. Terrible ad for the prem. Hopefully City finally get punished for their cheating and the prem looks at changing the rules for corners next season. Grim.

This is one of the most heart-breaking & important articles I have ever read - from someone whose voices are so rarely heard, a teenaged girl. If you want to understand online misogyny in all its devastating impact, please read this shattering piece. Here’s one appalling extract: "A few days ago I saw an Instagram reel of a young woman talking about how she had been raped six years ago, struggled with thoughts of suicide afterwards, but managed to rebuild her life again. Among the comments – the majority of which were from men – were things like “Well at least you had some”, “No way, she’s unrapeable”, “Hope you didn’t talk this much when it happened”, “Bro could have picked a better option.” Reading those comments, which had thousands of likes and many boys agreeing with them, made me feel sick.” And here’s the impact on this teenager’s self-esteem: "Using social media has ruined my self-esteem & my relation to being a girl in this world, & nearly every day I feel hatred towards my gender, my appearance, or even teenage girls as a category. The misogyny I see from boys my age online, which is echoed in real life too, has made me grow resentful and bitter towards them, as much as I try to avoid it. As wrong as it is, I persistently find myself considering if there are truly any boys out there who are not misogynistic to some extent, & have even questioned whether I can find love in the future because of this.” Our daughters do not have to grow up in a world that teaches them they're "community pussy" while still children. Teen boys aren't born misoygnistic - they learn these attitudes from adults. This is on every one of us, male and female alike, to fix. Banning kids from social media won't come close to addressing the fundamental misogyny that's alive, well and thriving in contemporary society. If all of us refused to accept it, called it out for what it is, culture would change. What a brave young woman this author is.

Dear World: Reasonable thoughtful Canadians are ashamed of Wayne Gretzky today. He does not speak for us. AND he is not our biggest icon nor our biggest, proudest success. 👇 He's lived in the United States the vast majority of his life. He's friends with our enemy, Donald Trump. So please stop calling him things like Canada's greatest or Canadian icon. That title belongs more properly with others. Sincerely, Most Canadians

Just have to say it - Wayne Gretzky long gave up his right to comment as a Canadian on anything. Fan of Trump? In no way is that Canadian. What is CBC thinking?
