You're building Netflix's billion-dollar algorithm for free and you're not getting anything out of it. Is it fair? Of course not! Every time you: - Skip a show intro - Binge-watch a series - Rate a movie - Browse without watching You're training their AI to be smarter. More accurate. More valuable. Netflix's recommendation engine is worth billions because it knows exactly what you want to watch next. But here's the thing, it only works because of YOUR data. Fragments of millions of human minds. What are you then if not an unpaid data scientist? Be fr now Every click, every pause, every "not interested" button is intellectual property you're freely giving away. (I'd take it so far as to say that's your own person's IP) Your viewing patterns, the attention you give for free to this platform, become their competitive advantage. Netflix's market cap: $500+ billion Your cut of that data goldmine: $0 Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know the math doesn't add up. Other industries are waking up to data ownership rights. Maybe it's time streaming platforms did too. And not only. Gaming platforms, news websites, social media apps, etc. What if platforms shared revenue with the users who make their algorithms possible? What if your Personal IP had equity in the algorithms it creates? Your attention built their empire. Time to get your cut.
