It is three in the morning in Sarajevo, and the party is just getting started. The power of sport to mobilize hope on raw display. All photographs via @klixba.

Just a reminder - Baggio had the plan for change and they fired him instead A 3rd missed World Cup won’t make the dinosaurs in the FIGC change their minds

Gennaro Gattuso insists this is ‘not the time’ to talk about his future after Italy lost the World Cup play-off to Bosnia and Herzegovina, but he hints Calcio has deeper problems. #Azzurri #BIHITA #Calcio #Nazionale #WorldCup

Abysmal. A game of decisive moments. The Bastoni sending off, the Kean miss, but Bosnia and Herzegovina were the much better team throughout. Italy fail again in a huge game. Lamentable.

It's been on the way, Bosnia and Herzegovina deservedly level. Looking ominous.

@CurvaMundialPod No big deal, I usually just mute commentary, even when watching Serie A on Paramount, except when it's Patrick Kendrick, who is the best anywhere.

@CurvaMundialPod English commentators and pundits usually the worst, however this Fox commentary is just absolutely shite.

The second half is going to be a real slog for Italy. Kean capitalised well on the mistake but otherwise Bosnia and Herzegovina the better side. No complaints with the Bastoni red card. Not looking good at all.

@SKasiewicz It’s one thing if it is a common situation, it’s another if you are being paid and hired to speak those names. It’s rude and arrogant in my opinion. At least try! There is no try here, they just spew whatever. I’m dyslexic and my pronunciation is closer! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Kean justifying his selection again. Really good finish after such an indifferent start. The Azzurri looking nervous at the back as expected.

The majestic hair, the flair and flamboyance, fearlessness, pace, and skill. Gianluigi Lentini at his peak for Torino in the 1991-1992 season. Such a shame his career petered out after the car accident. Picture from Album Figurine.

It will either be a complete grind and Italy end up going through or Edin Dzeko will score the winner - hope I'm wrong either way - but can't be enthusiastic about Italy's starting 11.

#Sampdoria
