@TuftsMedicalCtr Dr. DiBlasi says lack of regulation and easy access to nitrous oxide have given people a false sense of safety. However, inhaling the gas can cause longterm impacts on a person’s brain and nervous system.

Whippets or laughing gas has legitimate culinary & medical uses, so it’s legal to buy. It is illegal to inhale. But we found large cans of the gas in smoke shops and convenience stores. A clerk confirmed the product “gets you high” and mouthpieces were provided.
