Thailand defamation law again... This seems to be true but unfortunately I don't think it can be used for this case... Anything that happens in home between family historically been included as a privet matter and if it counts as personal matter even this can't save you. I do think us speaking up and making it a global concern would help a lot though. I've been reading more about what can effects the case and the other issue is the recording. Recording someone generally is a crime can lead to 5 million baht and up to 1year in prison. BUT BUT BUT for serious crimes sometimes the recording can be used in court as evidence. The problem is it seems like you "shouldn't" publicly share the audio recording. But again I'm not sure cuz we are talking about a rape case and so many criminals have used the exact law to get away with what they did. But about the rape of a kid under 15... Here is the thing they do take it more seriously and the statue of limitations for any kind of rape has increased from 3month to 20 years since 2019 and he is i think 29 so he might be able to file a lawsuit but proving it would probably be hard... But as I said in some cases the recording can be used as evidence. Again the only way we can help is to put as much pressure as we can to seek some sort of justice for him. spreading the word would be the best thing we can do. Thai people are fighting and we need to stand by their side this matters a lot the laws are changing like As 2026 the "it was just a joke" fortunately does not work as a defense and generally they are changing some laws right now any kind of sexual harassment counts as a crime or what i mentioned earlier about the statue of limitation! People are making changes but it's far from enough... Speak up! These are the things i've gathered but if there is any mistake or anything i missed please let me know🩵
