On Saturday, while patrolling areas that had recently been hit with numerous car break-ins during the Cardinals game, undercover Anti-Crime Task Force detectives observed a group of juveniles that were acting suspiciously and looking into vehicles.
Detectives stopped the group of juveniles in the 900 block of N 10th St., and a 14-year-old boy was found in possession of a handgun that was stolen from a car break-in the night prior. That 14-year-old was taken to the juvenile building where he was later released to a parent.
The additional four juveniles were found in possession of rocks which could be used to break vehicle windows but were not in possession of any stolen items. All juveniles were transported to their guardians by detectives and released.
Anyone with information on these recent car break-ins, or that may have surveillance video of suspicious activity, is asked to contact District 4 Detectives at 314-444-2500.

Reckless driving is dangerous for everyone.
Your #SLMPD Traffic Safety officers recently stopped a vehicle in the express lanes of I-70 going double the speed limit (which is 55 miles per hour). Some had excuses -- including not knowing the express lanes had to follow the speed limit.
Please Slow Down, #STL. #stltraffic

#SLMPD officers are constantly Investing in Safety.
Last weekend, District 2 officers followed up on a shooting that happened in the North Hampton neighborhood during a short-term rental party. During the investigation, officers discovered five suspects returned to the property, entered unlawfully and were in possession of these firearms.
Four of these firearms were equipped with "switches" which converts the guns into fully-automatics.
Four adult men and one juvenile were arrested and charged.
The investigation into the shooting is still active. Anyone with information is asked to call the Second District Detective Bureau at 314-444-0100.
