Meet Catherine Ramsey '24, '26: A double-graduate of SMU who will be walking the stage at SMU a second time this weekend to receive a Master's in Arts Management and MBA. The dual MA/MBA, through @smumeadows and @smucox, allowed her to combine business, leadership and the arts into one program that has set her up for success for any role she pursues next. This Mother's Day, we're celebrating Melissa and Jordan Escher '26, a mom and son graduating from SMU in the same class, at the same time! Same major, same classrooms, lunch three days a week. Meet Chris Young '26. At 37, he's graduating from SMU with degrees in Economics and Public Policy. His road to the Hilltop ran through poverty, seven years in federal prison and a presidential commutation that gave him a second chance he refuses to waste. Meet Will Leathers '26, student body president, Hunt Scholar and double major from Tupelo, Mississippi. He arrived at SMU knowing no one. Researchers from SMU Lyle School of Engineering are making microrobots easier to control without the need for constant monitoring. The newly created coil-based system guides magnetic microrobots using a steady magnetic field, allowing more accurate movement without constant imaging or tracking. This could be especially useful in healthcare for delivering medication to specific areas of the body and addressing challenges during minimally invasive procedures in hard-to-reach places. 🔗 Read more here: bit.ly/4ucZhwN

The SMU Black Unity Summit is a new alumni engagement initiative centered on strengthening community, supporting talented students, honoring legacy and advancing future impact. Grateful for this great group of alumni and all they bring to the SMU community!

Excited to launch The Dallas Office at SMU, a bold new initiative designed to strengthen collaboration with Dallas-based corporations, civic organizations and community partners while expanding access to the University’s talent, research and expertise. The Dallas Office will serve as our front door to the city and region and will expand opportunities for our students, faculty and partners. I’m thrilled to share that Kit Sawers has been named CEO of the office and a vice president of the University and will lead this work forward. From the Hilltop to the DCC stage ⭐️ SMU Pom senior captain Ashley Pitts '26 is headed to Final Auditions for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders! After a freestyle submission, she was selected to audition at DCC Live in Dallas in front of a packed audience. She learned a routine from a video and performed it live on stage, followed by two rounds of the signature DCC kickline. With SMU teammates, coaches and supporters there, she earned her spot in the finals this June! 🤍
