Newey said Aston Martin only discovered last November that many of Honda’s F1 engineers had been reassigned after 2021 and hadn’t returned. How? It was known back in 2023 that Honda’s engine project wouldn’t be the same as before. Something is amiss there. the-race.com/formula-1/adri…

Many teams will be unhappy. Big set-up and energy management implications. I don’t know how legitimate the safety concern is. Do fear it means the neutered approach to corners like Turn 9 will be even worse now with a long straight at higher drag to account for.

#F1 teams face major curveball at Australian GP as FIA scraps the Straight Mode zone before Turn 9. No active aero there means huge impact on drag levels, energy deployment and ride heights.

- Abnormal vibrations without known root cause
- Countermeasures to make it through Australia while working out real fix
- Performance upgrades not immediate priority

@SMitchellF1 So "convenient" that you "just happened to be standing there" when Stroll "ended in the gravel"... After all the talk on the podcast, this seems a like some sort of collusion

🗣️ @SMitchellF1: "This has been the most impressive car trackside in the last hour but Russell did just get Turn 10 quite wrong"

English

@rttmcm Yeah they can rejoin. And he'll be back out before the end of the day. It's not a terminal problem for today.
English

@SMitchellF1 Do they let cars that get stuck in the gravel back on track, or are they forced to be done for the day (assuming they’re mechanically ok)?
English

Thanks @HaasF1Team for letting us borrowing your man for a very insightful trackside trip during #F1 testing 👌

The Race went trackside with @HaasF1Team F1 reserve driver Jack Doohan to learn more about what the 2026 cars are actually like: the-race.com/formula-1/f1-2…

Aston Martin expected to be behind here but it is worse than expected. Some insight into why that is - timing of Newey arrival and Honda’s time in the wilderness (as previously reported) a factor - where the weaknesses are and Newey role in fixing it: the-race.com/formula-1/why-…

@wearetherace Can’t believe I forgot to say Alpine that was one of the first ones I noted down🤦🏻♂️ sorry @AlpineF1Team

@leclerc16f1f @wearetherace Doesn’t look easy. Leclerc still sliding at 10

@wearetherace Not looking at the times now, but is the Ferrari looking better planted on the race track today than yesterday? What are your observations?

Something that stood out from Verstappen and the Red Bull while watching (and listening) trackside: the-race.com/formula-1/the-…

@ThiagoFC43 The only ones I was aware of were Bottas (very brief, mid-season), Doohan obviously (second half of year if Franco struggled) and then Aron (for 2026, but outsider).
I guess other names were people speculating who it could/should be?
English

@SMitchellF1 By inventing I meant some possible replacements I heard about, like Russell, Maini, or Dunne*
Not all of them, sorry to have to correct myself
