Wet arrival early on Sunday morning in Miami. Lots of thunder and lightning (more than I’ve seen in my sheltered life and a lot closer too!).

@SMitchellF1 But if you have a problem with calculating plank wear, you get disqualified if the wear is too severe. Why shouldn’t that be the case here?

Overturned after teams pushed back…what a silly situation. As you were.

The FIA admits it is erring on the side of caution, and this is a draconian measure. Imagine if you’re a team that had wing levels and car balance that could tolerate maximum drag benefit. Then it changes because others can’t do it as well as you. FP3 will be interesting.

Many teams will be unhappy. Big set-up and energy management implications. I don’t know how legitimate the safety concern is. Do fear it means the neutered approach to corners like Turn 9 will be even worse now with a long straight at higher drag to account for.

@SMitchellF1 So "convenient" that you "just happened to be standing there" when Stroll "ended in the gravel"... After all the talk on the podcast, this seems a like some sort of collusion

Tough resumption of testing for Aston Martin which managed just 28 laps this morning and had only completed seven when Lance Stroll suffered a strange rear locking that ended with the car in the gravel. That car was behaving and sounding odd dynamically last week already.

@rttmcm Yeah they can rejoin. And he'll be back out before the end of the day. It's not a terminal problem for today.

@SMitchellF1 Do they let cars that get stuck in the gravel back on track, or are they forced to be done for the day (assuming they’re mechanically ok)?
