The Department of Anthropology at SOAS.

The Anthropology and Sociology department launched an appeal for the Helen Kanitkar Library. The library relies on the generosity of alumni to stay open. Only £2,000 is needed to cover the 25-26 academic years expenses. 🔗Make a gift here: ow.ly/bgti50W38gu

🚨 New Book Alert! 🚨 We are excited to announce the publication of "Buildings of Refuge and the Postcoloniality of Asylum Infrastructure" by our colleague Paolo Novak @Terminalias , offering a powerful new perspective on the European migration crisis. Based on rich ethnographic research in central Italy, the book explores how everyday buildings, converted into shelters for asylum seekers, become spaces where global histories, local dynamics, and migration policies come together. Drawing on postcolonial and feminist approaches, it makes a timely contribution to ongoing debates on EU borders, their colonial legacies, and the transformative power of migration. 👉 A must-read for anyone interested in migration, bordering processes, and the lived realities of asylum seekers. 📘Access the book here: soas-repository.worktribe.com/output/436575 @SOASEconomics
