As part of the 12th SOFPOG Annual General and Scientific Meeting (AGSM), the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation Medical Outreach was held on Saturday, 16 May 2026, providing free screening, consultation, counselling, medications, and NHIS registration services in Tarkwa, Western Region

Head of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at the University of Ghana Medical School, Vincent Boima, says research has found that Akans are more likely to carry high-risk gene variants linked to kidney disease compared to Gas and Ewes in Ghana.
