@virsanghvi They should build average-sized apartments for all politicians in Delhi at Gymkhana Land and vacate their large, huge bungalows. This will balance out the uneven social structure and provide Delhi with more space to build homes for the homeless.

Sharp Edge: I don’t like Raj era clubs and I will never become a member of one. So whatever happens to the Delhi Gym makes no difference to my life. And yes it may be unfair to charge only a nominal rent to a club that mostly caters to retired army officers & civil servants But if you are talking about unfairness why stop at veterans? Why not throw ministers out of their huge houses? Why not take away their motorcades? Ground their private planes? Today’s Lutyens elite comprises politicians who have run Lutyens Delhi for a decade and live in those huge Lutyens bungalows. Why pamper the new Lutyens elite and persecute soldiers who have fought for our country and bureaucrats who gave their lives for India ? Don’t swallow the propaganda & the lies. Don’t let political dadagiri extend to attacking veterans and retired civil servants while politicians live off honest tax payers theprint.in/opinion/sharp-…

@sabeer Dhanda culture has always been present in India. Since education now seems to be gone missing, it has become even more potent. It's called Jugaad, and surprisingly, new investors also endorse this strategy for short-term gains.

Dhandha culture has taken over the nation. A large percentage of new startups seem to be some variation of trading, brokerage, delivery, arbitrage or reselling rather than creating fundamentally new technologies or inventions. Have we optimized an entire generation for commerce instead of curiosity? Is the education system partly to blame for producing job seekers and traders rather than inventors, scientists and creators?

@sabeer because they belong to locals! Education has nothing to do with your aptitude, especially in India. It doesn't help in any way in the current system other than giving free degrees, and even those are now extremely unreliable.

Why is it that some of the most incompetent, uneducated, unqualified, and unsympathetic people end up in politics in India? Could this be why so many decisions seem disconnected from the realities faced by ordinary citizens? A country’s future is shaped by the quality of its leadership. Shouldn’t we expect better?

Judges get 150+ days of leave every year. Judges receive around ₹2.8 lakh in salary and around ₹45,000 in allowances every month. They also get many other benefits like medical facilities, an official car with a driver, and more. If the government is already paying them so much during their service, then what is the need to give pension after retirement? It ultimately becomes a burden on the people of India.

That a social media created idea of CJP has taken the GenZ imagination by storm is a sad reflection of them losing hope in most of the current opposition parties. Clearly there is anger against BJP but voters would rather bet on a new figment of imagination created party than established opposition parties is unfortunate. We really need to rethink and reimagine the young voter, we owe it to them and India’s future.

The most dangerous kind of ambition is borrowed ambition. You chase the career, body, lifestyle, relationship, or status that looks good on others, then wonder why you are not able to obsess over it. A goal that is not yours will never let you become obsessive enough to achieve it.

@ARanganathan72 Anand, this is a great start for these politicians to test the risk and threat level as common men. This country needs security and safety for all common people, just like other developed countries. It's indeed a great start.

First it was Modi, then followed Amit Shah, and now it is Yogi - those facing the greatest threats have cut their security convoys. This recklessness must stop. Saving fuel cannot come at the cost of securing lives, it must be based on rational cost-benefit analysis. My views:

I had the most amazing trip to Delhi, Mumbai and Gurgaon over the last 5 days. Met incredible people, had thought-provoking conversations, and saw the energy of a rapidly changing India. But the words that made my day came from a little girl today: “Sir, you have good behavior. I can tell.” Sometimes the smallest compliments carry the deepest meaning.
