@teslascope Will 2034.3 be available for cars on 2024.2.7 that have a pending update for 2024.8.4? Do pending updates ever get preempted ?

Yesterday, we were the first to announce that Tesla had finally transitioned FSD V12.3.2 to the 2024 branch, and we're glad to see it come to fruition just a day later on customer vehicles. This will be an exciting next two weeks!

It's happening! A lot happened at Tesla this morning, including Elon sending emails to everyone at 2AM (PST) and subsequently varying teams throughout the company receiving further correspondence about the road ahead. Buckle up, as we're discussing a lot below!

Raptor V3 just achieved 350 bar chamber pressure (269 tons of thrust). Congrats to @SpaceX propulsion team! Starship Super Heavy Booster has 33 Raptors, so total thrust of 8877 tons or 19.5 million pounds.

@NASASpaceflight Next test is ~20 sec firing with max oxygen fill to test autogenous pressurization, possibly one more static fire, then orbital launch attempt

@LovingWildlyfe All while SpaceX conducts more space launches than any other national or corporate entity at the lowest cost per kg. Efficiency + more money spent on space = more opportunities to do great things in space 4/x

@LovingWildlyfe These private fundraising rounds are actually increasing the total space budget. Rather than just relying on government funding, private investors and now consumers are helping support SpaceX development. 3/x

More "Virgin had several accidents, including fatalities. ABL blew up their second stage last month, Astra have been blowing up more rockets than we can count. What puts them and Pythom apart is neither that we are safer or more unsafe. The difference is we are more transparent."

Pythom Space has put a statement on their website about their March 19 stage test. They're unrepentant about safety issues, saying they "posted a video of the jump, including the 'scary' parts, normally swept under the rug in the aerospace industry." pythom.space/updates/pythom…

@brian_henderson @jeff_foust @CNES @SpaceX Falcon Heavy offers significant increases in payload mass. SpaceX has demonstrated multiple orbit launch profiles from KSC and Vandenberg supports polar launches as well. This issue is fundamentally political. Arianespace exists to launch European rockets, not American rockets.

@SPEXcast @jeff_foust @CNES @SpaceX A equatorial launch location offers a significant increase in payload mass that can be delivered to orbit. Guiana also offers more options in terms of orbit inclination.

Wonder if French Space Agency @CNES, has considered discussions with @SpaceX as near term solution? Construction of a Landing Pad and launch infrastructure modifications. SpaceX could ferry a couple of #Falcon9 boosters to French Guiana. Guessing could be operational in 6-12 mo
Jeff Foust@jeff_foust

Head of the French space agency CNES says the agency is looking at options to launch missions that were to fly on Soyuz from French Guiana on new European launchers. ESA weighing options for alternative launches for ExoMars as well.

@ID_AA_Carmack They already use this for movie cameras and other applications, you want the axis of rotation to be offset from the center of the lense so that there's slow moving part in the field of view.

I wonder if a rapidly spinning transparent disc would serve as a good rain shield for small cameras with less problems than wipers.
