बकरीद से पहले जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के अध्यक्ष मौलाना अरशद मदनी का एक बयान काफी चर्चा में है. उन्होंने सरकार से गाय को राष्ट्रीय पशु घोषित करने की मांग की है, जिससे इस पर होने वाली राजनीति और हिंसा पर स्थायी रूप से रोक लग सके. उन्होंने यह भी कहा है कि जो भी शख्स गाय कसाई को बेचता है और जो खरीदता है, जो उसका मांस खाता है, वे सभी कसूरवार हैं. अब पूर्व उपराष्ट्रपति हामिद अंसारी ने भी एक महत्वपूर्ण बात कही है. उन्होंने कहा कि अगर गाय की कुर्बानी पर लोगों को आपत्ति है, तो सरकार को मौलाना मदनी के प्रस्ताव पर गंभीरता से विचार करना चाहिए. अंसारी ने कहा कि बहुत से लोगों में जानवर की बलि देने की प्रथा है, क्योंकि यह धर्म के सिद्धांतों के अनुरूप है. उन्होंने आगे कहा कि अब चाहे वह गाय हो, ऊंट हो, या बकरा हो... यह तो अलग बात है... अगर लोगों को गाय की कुर्बानी पर आपत्ति है, तो इससे बचा जाना चाहिए. सीधी-सी बात है. #Bakrid #Cow #RowFormerVicePresident #HamidAnsari #ZeeNews

The key question is, when there is a petition for disqualification pending against an MLA how can he or she be allowed to resign? On what basis did the Speaker accept their resignation? Prima facie if he decides that they are disqualified then the question of their resignation does not arise. Why the AIADMK has not challenged this in Court is beyond me.

What will happen if Muslims start objecting to and protesting Hindu festivals within housing societies? If causing offense is the new criteria, then Holi, Ganpati, and Diwali etc should be barred from society premises too. They claim Eid Al-Adha Bakrid sacrifices pose sanitation issues, a matter the BMC should simply regulate. But the Diwali severely impacts the environment and causes respiratory illnesses, while Ganpati noise pollution has even led to death in Pune.Why is there no equal and just Non-discriminatory law for everyone? Why is chaos manufactured only ahead of Muslim festivals? Why ignore historical truths and ground realities just to blindly follow BJP'S Hindutva politics? This is pure prejudice, and it benefits no one. Do not assume political regimes last forever; the atrocities and trauma we are forced to endure during our festivals will never be forgotten. Housing societies must have a single standard: either permit all festivals, including Eid, Bakrid, Ganpati, and Diwali, or ban all religious celebrations completely. Consistency, not selective targeting, is the only fair solution.! Anything else is pure bigotry, discrimination, and injustice!

I believe @TVKVijayHQ is taking the ethically correct path here. If elected representatives from @ADMKofficial or any other party wish to join another movement, asking them to first resign their MLA position and return to the people for a fresh mandate is the cleanest democratic approach. Political realignment is not the issue. Seeking public reapproval before continuing in office is what preserves democratic morality. If the people re-elect them under the leadership of @actorvijay, that verdict itself becomes the legitimacy. But what I wish to say, on the basis of my own several visits there, is that it is frequented, and its members are, well to do businessmen, high ranking bureaucrats and military officers, and other affluent so called 'elite' of society, and their families, who care two hoots for the vast majority of Indians who are poor. They come there to eat good food, drink excellent liquor ( often imported, and consequently very expensive ), talk gossip, and generally entertain themselves and make merry, while totally indifferent and insensitive to the terrible sufferings of the Indian masses. It is a colonial relic, and I will shed no tears if it meets its demise

The Assam Uniform Civil Code is not uniform at all. It completely exempts tribal communities from UCC’s coverage. Every community has the right to protect its culture under Article 29, but why is only the tribals’ autonomy being protected? This is the imposition of a law that no one wants. The constituent assembly did not envision a mandatory UCC. In Islam, no one can exclude an heir from inheritance. No one can write a will to give their whole property to one son or deny their daughter inheritance. This UCC allows anyone to write a will and deny their daughters their fair share. This is far from a gender just law.
