@themikescalise The odd thing was that it was set to F7 and my mapping scheme was set to (Default). Clicking the Reset button straightened it out. I think Erin is onto something as I do have Visual Studio also installed on that box.

@SQLMatt Matt, what does it look like for “Shortcuts for selected command” for “View.ObjectExplorerDetails” under Tools—>Options… ? F7?

Does anyone know how to restore lost functionality in a clean install of SSMS v19.1? Specifically, when I'm in a script and I hit Ctrl-N for a new script, SSMS brings up the New File dialog box, not a new script. Also, F7 does not open Object Explorer Details.

@erinstellato @AngryPets I do! That may just have been my issue. Once I clicked the Reset button for the (Default) mapping scheme in SSMS, all my issues went away! Thank you very much!

@AngryPets @SQLMatt Hm...do you have Visual Studio installed on the same machine? (in the case where the shortcut scheme changes?)

@SQLMatt #sqlhelp Not sure why or HOW it does this, but SSMS can/will change keyboard shortcut SCHEMEs - which is what it sounds like you've run into. Use instructions here: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssms… to make sure you're set to the DEFAULT scheme:
