On this date 30 years ago I rocked up to John Henry studios in London to audition BVs for a band I’d seen on the telly. I’d fallen in love with one of their songs, ‘UR the best thing’, and decided I needed to sing it 😊

Tragic news about Michael Mosley. He was such an important figure both on and off screen in the BBC science unit, and as a mentor to many of us when we started out in science presenting. And, as many of our colleagues have already said on here, he was a genuinely lovely man. So sorry for his family. RIP Michael.

I had terrible heartburn all yesterday. I tried my usual medicine but it kept returning. A doctor friend suggested I squeeze a lemon in hot water and drink it. I didn’t think it would work but it did! Apparently the acidic lemon turns alkaline in the stomach acid. #toptip
