I just wanted to send condolences to the family, classmates, and teachers of Addison Witt, a Mercy senior who suddenly passed away this week. I hope you're able to fill your emptiness with the laughs, the memories, and the happiness she provided you.

Since I haven't posted in a while & since it's so cold in SE MI, I'd like to fight all of this "coldness" by sending "warmest" wishes that anyone reading this is doing well, wherever you are. If you're not, I truly am rooting for even "warmer" days for you.

Five years ago today, my favorite high school teacher died after fighting cancer for years. I'll never be the teacher he was, but I still stop, while working in the classroom, and think about what he'd do, in order to try to be.

Just wanted to wish the "2025" MERCY and MARIAN grads the best as they go off to college. If they're in "reading distance" of this post, I hope they remember: Of course you can handle this "next." You're brilliant, bright, and engaging. That's why... :)

Has anyone made a joke relating to the irony of an astronomer cheating on his wife while being at a COLDPLAY concert who literally has a song called "The Scientist?" If no one has, I want absolute and full credit for making that connection first . . . :)

I wanted to send "Best Wishes" to the students who'll learn how they did on their various AP Exams when they drop tomorrow. I hope for two things: 1. They get the score they want. 2. If not, they know they'll kick ass at "Life" regardless of a stupid test. :)

Attention former students: It's June 27th; don't forget, according to the story "The Lottery," please avoid the following today: 1. Buying lotto tickets. 2. Chilling w/members of your community in town. 3. Anyone who might be looking at rocks . . . :)

I heard I got a "shout out" at Mercy's MOVING UP last week. I'm sincerely grateful for that, but I'm more sincerely hopeful that each of those "soon to be" graduates who were in the Auditorium enjoy each other before they go on to do fantastic things. :)

It's getting close to "AP EXAM" time, so I'm thinking of my current APUSH class and rooting hard for them to do well. I also had to dust off these "Gem" shirts from past classes to get even more pumped up for the last stretch, and teach the best I can. :)

I've not been able to say "I'm proud of you" to anyone. I think it's because I've never felt like I've been elevated above anyone, and I think there's some of that to this day. So, whatever is the equivalent to that phrase, know that it applies to you. :)

Since it's INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY, I'd like to speak on behalf of the other side of the human species: We have never valued you enough (and I'm talking waaay back to EVE in the GARDEN) for what you have given. And so thank you, today, and all days. :)

It's VALENTINE'S DAY Weekend, so I'd like to say that Feburary 14th is just a day, in the "365," that I LOVE everyone who might read this post, in separate ways, for separate reasons, and that I remember; you've done so much to contribute to my life. :)

It was CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK this week, and students decorated classroom doors of teachers. This is my door; it's always hit my heart well when they do write, whether they were writing from MERCY or MARIAN. Jeez, how selfless they have been doing so. :)
