@irishanthem I had to look it up. Apparently, a black flag (opposite of a white flag) means "never surrender." Unfortunately with this much enthusiasm in their yard, others who had put out BLM, Pride or even American flags have quietly taken them down.

Each time @ChristinaLords and I cross paths she talks proudly about how #LocalJournalism is essential. She rallied the community to believe in the @IdahoStatesman and support journalists amid national debates of “fake news.” @mcclatchy responded by punishing that passion & work.
