This was a bipartisan bill that would have added maybe 30 cents to a dollar to a can of paint sold in NH. For context, Donald Trump has levied the largest sales tax increase on normal Americans in a generation with his tariffs. Ayotte hasn’t condemned them. #NHPolitics

@ColinGBooth Trump is using tariffs to try to encourage more domestic manufacturing. US businesses can't compete with countries where there are no labor or environmental laws and everything can be had dirt cheap. Meanwhile the paint tax is a state thing that encourages nothing.
