How many more children must be lost before we act with urgency? We are deeply disturbed by the killing of a 11-year-old Glorious Kaizen in Kisauni, Mombasa. We join residents of Kisauni and Kenyans in demanding justice for Baby Gloria. She was reported missing on 14th March and a preliminary review showed that he was sexually violated before being killed and put in the bag. A young life taken in a manner that should never happen to any child. This reflects a growing crisis where children are increasingly unsafe in the very communities meant to protect them. We call for a swift and thorough investigation and for those responsible to be held fully accountable. The protection of children must be treated as urgent and non-negotiable.If we cannot protect our children then what exactly are we protecting? THIS IS FEMICIDE. How many more Kenyans must lose their lives before safety becomes a real priority in this country? We are receiving reports that Betty Wanjiru Nyaga, a junior secondary school teacher was raped and killed in Mwea, Kirinyaga County. This loss is painful and unacceptable. #RestoringDignity

We joined other stakeholders in a meeting convened by the @sdgskenyaforum for the official launch and handover of the #CSODataCommons a tool built to put civil society at the centre of Sustainable Development Goals reporting. The CSO Data Commons Platform was developed to help civil society organizations work with reliable evidence while reducing duplication. #RestoringDignity

Today, we celebrate the courage, leadership and resilience of women everywhere. Real progress comes when we choose to give respect, protection and opportunity. In return, we gain stronger communities, safer spaces and a more just society. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2026

As we commemorated the International Day Against Sexual Exploitation, we are reminded that the work does not end with one day on the calendar. The fight continues every single day. At @WanguKanjaF, we have a survivor-centred support system that ensures survivors can access comprehensive care, protection and guidance in a safe and dignified manner. If you or someone you know is being sexually exploited, report the case through toll free line 1519. The line provides access to guidance, referrals and comprehensive support. #RestoringDignity

We recently supported the Court Users Committee (CUC) meeting convened at Makadara Law Courts under the leadership of Hon. Judge James Wakiaga. The meeting brought together individuals and institutions that interact with the courts, from both state and non-state actors to address challenges within the justice system, improve public participation, track case progress, strengthen stakeholder engagement, share best practices and deepen understanding of court operations. During the session, members were presented with findings from research conducted in partnership with @WanguKanjaF and @unibirmingham aimed at strengthening responses to justice challenges in Kenya. You can access the research here wangukanjafoundation.org/resource-downl…

Happy Women’s Month. This month is a reminder that women are not just participants in society. They are leaders, defenders, builders and changemakers shaping communities every single day. Their voices, rights, safety and dignity must never be negotiable. We celebrate women’s achievements, amplify their demands for justice and commit to a world where every woman and girl lives free from violence, discrimination and fear. During this time, we will be highlighting women’s rights organizations and Community Based Organizations under the @ssvkenya network that support survivors across different parts of the country. When women rise, society rises with them. #RestoringDignity

The reported defilement of a 9 years old in Busia County is a national alarm that cannot be ignored. When violence reaches even infants, it exposes a protection system that is failing at its most basic duty. We have recommendations, what is missing is political will and enforcement. #RestoringDignity

Over the weekend, we hosted a powerful movement building session for members of @SSVKenya. Interactive games carefully integrated into the session made the lessons easier to relate with helping participants connect more freely with one another and with the ideas being shared. The session focused on three pillars. Connection, where survivors identified shared experiences and built solidarity. Agency, where voices once silenced stepped forward with clarity and leadership. Action, where participants named the barriers they want changed and the systems they are ready to challenge. Survivors are shaping a movement that protects their communities and demands accountability from systems that must change. #RestoringDignity

Congratulations to Senior Counsel Charles Kanjama @ckanjama on his election as the 52nd President of the Law Society of Kenya. We look forward to his leadership in strengthening the legal profession, upholding constitutional principles and standing firm with survivors of sexual violence who depend on a justice system that protects their rights and dignity. We also commend Faith Odhiambo @FaithOdhiambo8 for her dedicated service and steady leadership during her tenure as President. Her contribution has helped shape a more responsive Society, and her impact will continue to guide progress within the legal community. We wish Charles Kanjama success as he begins this important mandate. #RestoringDignity

BREAKING NEWS: The Kericho High Court has ruled that John Chebochok is unfit to hold public office in Kenya. It is a significant win for survivors from tea plantation communities whose voices are often ignored, dismissed or silenced. For many of them, this ruling represents recognition, validation and a step toward restoring dignity after long struggles for accountability. #JusticeForSurvivors

The proposed Nairobi Metropolitan Police unit may strengthen safety in Nairobi. However, we urge President William Ruto and Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen to treat sexual violence with the same urgency it gives other security priorities. Survivors cannot keep waiting while promises move faster than action. A dedicated Sex Crimes Unit is a basic requirement for justice, dignity and public trust. #SetUpSexCrimesUnit

President Ruto: Security is non-negotiable. I direct the Cabinet Secretary for Interior to prepare and present, within 60 days, a framework for a dedicated Nairobi Metropolitan Police unit to work hand in hand with the Nairobi County security.

This is how harmful narratives grow. They creep into headlines, conversations and courtrooms until brutality begins to sound like misfortune instead of wrongdoing. When someone describes rape or murder as "accidental" they do more than misuse language. We must say what happened, name the harm and center the survivor. Justice for Shantel Waruguru. #RestoringDignity

Do you remember him? The Kericho High Court is set to deliver judgment on 19 February 2026 in Constitutional Petition No. 006 of 2024, a case filed against John Chebochok together with IEBC, KTDA Holdings, Tea Board of Kenya and Tegat Tea Factory. The petition was taken to court to challenge actions and decisions linked to these parties, including calls to bar him from holding any public office, raising serious constitutional and public interest questions that many Kenyans have been following closely. The upcoming ruling is expected to clarify accountability, legality and the protection of public interest within institutions entrusted with public trust. As we await this judgment, it is important to remember that justice delayed is justice denied. We are calling the @Kenyajudiciary to deliver a survivor-centered judgment, one that upholds dignity, accountability and the rule of law. #StopJohnChebochok

Today, we hosted the IPSIA Kenya team at our offices for a thoughtful engagement on areas of mutual partnership. Our conversation focused on shared priorities, practical collaboration and ways to strengthen impact through joint efforts, especially initiatives that support survivors and uphold their dignity and rights. Partnerships like these create space for learning, alignment and coordinated action that can better serve communities and advance our collective goals. #RestoringDignity

You still think sexual violence happens in dark spaces? A clinical officer in Bomet has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman who had gone for a maternity check-up. A place meant for care became a place of harm. This is exactly why President William Ruto must declare GBV as a national emergency. #RestoringDignity
