After an incredibly successful first year, the STARS College Network has announced plans to double in size! 16 new colleges will join the network, expanding opportunities for students from small towns and rural areas.

26 rural students participated in The Stars College Network Fly-In at The University of Chicago. STARS partner schools across the country will be hosting similar fly-in programs throughout the year. Be on the lookout for more information about how and when to apply for these!

On Saturday we celebrated 25 years of #MarylandDay and hosted our inaugural @STARSCollegeNet event! We brought students from rural areas across the state to campus for a chance to learn about UMD, the college search process and to explore hundreds of free activities. #BeATerp

Our monthly STARS College Network Panels kick off tomorrow with a conversation about holistic review! Learn what holistic review is and how colleges implement this process to evaluate applications. Registration can be found under the events tab on starscollegenetwork.org.

The final virtual event during the STARS College Network Week will take place next Thursday, April 27th. Join current students from Yale, WashU, OSU, and Iowa to learn more about college life and the transition from a rural or small-town school to a large university.

Have you ever wondered how admissions counselors review applications? Next Wednesday, April 26th, representatives from Columbia, CalTech, Case Western, and Colby will give you a sneak peak into what this process looks like.

Are you interested in learning more about how you can fund your college education? Join experts from Brown, Northwestern, UW-Madison, and University of Maryland next Tuesday, April 25th to learn about applying for financial aid and scholarships!
