New England needs to pay attention to NAIA basketball, it's high-level hoops! There's only 1 NAIA program in the region, so I get why many might not be familiar, but I've been a big fan for a while now. If you're a HS hooper, do your research on NAIA options! Be surprised.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Alfredo Cardona is the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Springfield Technical Community College, known for rapidly rebuilding the program into a competitive force. In just his first three seasons, he has led the Rams to back-to-back playoff appearances, including a nine-game improvement and the program’s highest conference win total since 2019–2020. His impact extends beyond wins, developing all-league players and Academic All-Americans while building a nationally recruited roster and a strong, winning culture. “Be flexible in your approach and realize that each player is his own canvas. You can’t paint them all with the same brush and building strong personal relationships will create incredible buy-in and trust.” “I joined the LABC to be part of the largest network of Latino Basketball Coaches whose purpose is to provide a platform of support, encouragement, and opportunity. The LABC has allowed me to take advantage of networking opportunities to continue my life long learning in the sport. The presentations from other coaches serve as inspiration towards this career and I will utilize all available resources when applicable.”

JUCO isn’t a backup plan. It’s a 1st OPTION. JUCO is not for the weak though. It’s the proving ground. •JUCO kids are highly sought after. • You develop, you succeed and you proceed. • Your stock rises after real reps. The RIGHT JUCO will take care of you! #TheFamily🦅

EMBRACE COLLABORATION! As a coach, refusing help or resisting others working with your student-athletes out of insecurities….. what are we really accomplishing? The goal is to get the reps, improve, and grow. Embrace collaboration for the benefit of your student athletes

Not every player’s journey ends with a “One Shining Moment” on CBS and that’s the reality. About 98% of college basketball players only have four years left to play once they get to college. Only a very small percentage will go on to play professionally. That means your college decision cannot be based only on the name, the logo, or the dream scenario. If you’re a high school player, you need to choose a place where you can realistically get on the floor, develop, and make the most of your four years. Opportunity matters. Fit matters. Playing time matters. Focus on the right fit, not just the biggest name. Go where you can grow. Go where you can play. Go where your career can truly begin. Because when those four years are over, for most players, it’s back to the local gym.
