A discussion about the program academic activities, professional experiences, and effects it has on their career paths

Dr Bretram, CEO of PLTW, visited w/ the STL CAPS students at St Anthonys Hospital

Students had the opportunity to view 4 - 5 surgeries during their Neuro OR rotation

Conversation topics included need for this type of surgery, causes that lead to this situation, possible outcome, and anatomical features.

During the surgeries, STL CAPS students participated in different conversations with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, the nurses, and surg Rep

During the Surgery Rotation, CAPS students are taught proper techniques for sterilization, safety, and the newest Neuro surgical procedures.

Continuing in the Neuro Unit, students were assigned rotations that included Neuro ICU, Stroke Response, Neuro Surgery OR, & Neuro PT

Thank U Dr Young, Nurse Karen, Nurse Dawn, SLU, St Anthonys, Mr Ray, and Ms Kim for making the first part of the CNS Unit a big Success!!

After the students developed their findings on their patient, they pre stead to Dr Young (Neurosurgeon)

During Grand Rounds Dr Paul Young walked the CAPS students thru the examination and treatment of Neuro patient

Students had to develop a list of differential diagnosis, determine an official diagnosis w/ the tests, and create a treatment plan
