FIRST WEEKEND OF SPRING? MORE LIKE FIRST WEEKEND OF SUMMER 😎🔥 Friday’s Weather Blog is LIVE Presented by Heritage South Community Credit Union Spring just started… but it’s going to feel a whole lot more like summer across Southern Middle Tennessee this weekend. Highs will climb into the 80s Saturday and Sunday, with some spots pushing the mid to upper 80s. That’s running 20+ degrees above normal, and we could get close to a few record highs Sunday. A weak front moves through Sunday night with low rain chances, followed by a slight cooldown next week (but still warm overall). In today’s blog, I break down: • Why it’s getting so warm so fast • How close we are to record highs • The small storm chance Saturday • What to expect with Sunday night’s front • The pattern heading into next week Read the full update now on the STN Weather App, or by clicking the link below. Sorry y’all, I’m a little late with today’s post. It seems like I’m still trying to catch up from last weekend’s crazy weather!! But anyways… HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING! And boy, does it feel like it out there today! Highs today will climb into the mid to upper 70s areawide under mostly sunny skies. Absolutely beautiful out and about. We’re going to be skipping the majority of spring and heading straight into SUMMER MODE this weekend. Highs on both Saturday and Sunday will push into the mid 80s under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Record high temperatures will likely fall in several spots across southern Middle Tennessee. I did mention at least a small chance for rain tomorrow, but that has largely shifted east. I’m holding onto a very small 10% chance mainly east of Interstate 65, but overall rain chances remain very limited over the next 7 days. Unfortunately, that means drought conditions will likely continue to worsen before this dry stretch is over. Long-range data is still hinting at a more active pattern heading into April, but we’ve got a couple more quiet (you didn’t hear me say it 👀) and warm days to get through first. And I’ll be honest… this summerlike weather has me READY for pool season already! 😎 ⸻ 🛟 CLEARWATER POOL & SPA, LLC 🫧 This weather update is sponsored by Clearwater Pool & Spa in Manchester, now under new ownership by Kevin and Jean Tennant! NEAR-RECORD HEAT THIS WEEKEND Thursday’s Weather Blog is LIVE Presented by Heritage South Community Credit Union We’re not just warming up… we’re heading for mid 80s in March across Southern Middle Tennessee. A strong warming trend is underway, and Sunday could challenge record high temperatures, running 15–20° above normal for this time of year. It’s all thanks to a classic warm air advection pattern, with southwest winds pulling in warmer air and high pressure keeping things dry. There is a very small chance for a pop-up shower or storm Saturday, but most areas stay dry. A weak cold front arrives Monday with low rain chances, followed by a slight cooldown back into the 60s and 70s. In today’s blog, I break down: • Why temperatures are getting so warm • How close we are to record highs Sunday • The small storm chance Saturday • What to expect with Monday’s cold front • The pattern heading into next week Read the full update now on the STN Weather App, or by clicking the link below. WARM AND DRY is the name of the game over the next 7… and honestly, it’s a little too quiet for a weather guy like me 😅 Highs will climb to near 70 today, then we’re off to the races with 80s showing up this weekend. Rain chances? Practically nonexistent. I’ve got about a 10% chance at best over the next week, and even that feels generous. We may see small day-to-day fluctuations, but overall… this is a very quiet pattern. (Don’t say it too loud though… Mother Nature hears everything 👀) So what’s causing all of this? It all comes down to a ridge of high pressure. Think of a ridge as a big “bubble” of warm, sinking air sitting over the Southern US. Air is literally sinking from higher in the atmosphere down toward the ground. When air sinks, it dries out and warms up — which makes it very hard for storms to form. That’s why we’re seeing: • Warmer temperatures each day • Very limited rain chances Until that ridge breaks down or shifts, we’re pretty much locked into this warm and dry setup. ⸻ 🔥 REDD’S HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING 🔥 This weather update is sponsored by Redd’s Heating & Air Conditioning, proudly serving our community for over 50 years. QUIET WEATHER RETURNS & 80S AHEAD Wednesday’s Weather Blog is LIVE Presented by Heritage South Community Credit Union After a very active and busy stretch of severe weather, things are finally calming down across Southern Middle Tennessee. We’re transitioning into a quiet and much warmer pattern, with no major storm systems expected for several days. Temperatures will steadily warm from the 50s and 60s today to the 70s Thursday and Friday, and even upper 70s to low 80s this weekend. Yes… more 80s in March! Rain chances remain very low, with only a small chance for a few showers Monday, mainly east toward the Plateau. In today’s blog, I break down: • When clouds clear out today • How fast temperatures warm up • Just how warm this weekend gets • When our next (very small) rain chance arrives • What the overall pattern looks like going forward Read the full update now on the STN Weather App, or by clicking the link below. SAY BYE BYE TO BELOW FREEZING TEMPS 👋👋 While we’re probably not completely done with light freezes for the rest of spring, this does look like our last true freeze for a good while — and that’s some welcome news! Today will start off mostly cloudy, but we’ll see decreasing clouds as we head through the afternoon. A weak disturbance is moving through this morning, bringing the extra cloud cover and maybe a few light showers. You might even catch a couple snowflakes mixing in at times, but overall… not much to write home about. Many spots will stay dry. Since the 7-day forecast is pretty quiet, let’s take a quick look ahead 👀. The latest Climate Prediction Center outlooks for the next 2 weeks are showing: 🔴 Above-average temperatures favored 🟤 Below-average precipitation favored So overall, we’re trending warmer and drier heading deeper into March. That doesn’t mean zero rain chances, but widespread storm systems look pretty limited for now. Unfortunately… we still need the rain. Most of the area remains in a level 1 (moderate) drought, so we’ll be keeping an eye on that moving forward. ⸻ 🚨 MID-STATE TOWING 🚨 This weather update is sponsored by Mid-State Towing, a locally owned and family-operated towing service proudly serving Coffee County and surrounding communities. 🥶 CHILLY TUESDAY MORNING ACROSS THE AREA We’re waking up to temperatures in the 20s this morning, and despite plenty of sunshine today, highs will struggle to reach the mid 40s thanks to a stiff northwest breeze. Another hard freeze is expected tonight with lows falling back into the mid to upper 20s. A small disturbance will push through Wednesday morning, bringing a slight chance (around 20%) for a light wintry mix. No impacts or accumulations are expected. Temperatures will rebound into the 50s tomorrow afternoon, especially along and south/west of Interstate 24. 🔥 THE GOOD NEWS? A WARM-UP IS COMING! Highs will steadily climb each day, and by this weekend, many areas will be back in the 80s! The extended pattern looks fairly quiet, so enjoy the break while it lasts. ———— 🏦 This social media weather update is presented by Heritage South Community Credit Union. We Help When Others Won’t! ACHES & PAINS FORECAST | March 16th – March 22nd Presented by Lamb Counseling Services This week’s Aches & Pains Forecast continues to use our weather changes scale on the left side of the graphic. Fewer weather changes (including steadier pressure and temperatures) typically mean less discomfort. More dramatic changes can increase the likelihood of flare-ups. When barometric pressure changes quickly, tissues around joints can expand slightly and place more stress on nerves. Temperature swings can also tighten muscles and affect circulation, which may increase stiffness and pain for some. This week’s outlook: • Conditions improve quickly on Tuesday, though cooler temperatures may still cause some arthritis stiffness early in the day. • After a very active weekend and snow showers today, discomfort may remain elevated to start the week as the atmosphere settles down. • Conditions improve quickly Tuesday, though cooler temperatures may still cause some arthritis stiffness throughout the day. • A weak disturbance may move through Wednesday morning, but impacts look minor, and the overall pattern remains fairly quiet. • Late week into the weekend, temperatures climb into the upper 50s and 60s, possibly even the 70s, with very few weather changes expected — helping comfort levels stay in the green or "less pain" category. In short, after a busy stretch of weather, a quieter and warmer pattern should bring some much-needed relief this week. Lamb Counseling Services:“Weather affects the body. Life affects the soul. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” Isaiah 40:31 Hope Through Healing For more info, visit 📷 lambcounseling.net or call (931) 492-688
