@olaoluwakiwms @4_Ben_Media He did good, just like Iverson. Both were great at their sports, both did “ok” based on expectations. Disagree about Usyk. I do think fighters were staying away from Loma for parts of his career which may have hurt his resume potential, but that’s part of boxing.

@STRATEGY_510 @4_Ben_Media Yeah I understand his point. But I am saying relative to what he achieved then he did good. Remove the losses. What is the difference between his resume and Usyk? He has the better wins in total. Better highs. Just lower lows.

@olaoluwakiwms @4_Ben_Media He didn’t have a disappointing career in and of itself, but relative to expectations. Lefty’s Iverson comparison is perfect, Loma’s career did not match expectations. No one is saying he sucked lol. He literally acknowledged him as a hall of famer.

@4_Ben_Media the question was who had a disappointing career. A career that includes cleaning out two divisions and the ring title at 135 is appropriate for a legend coming in. And when you put some wins into context - Walters coming off the Donaire and Vic stoppage. Rigo. Not disappinting

@ChampTheoryHQ I respect that, but the deeper and more objective of an understanding you develop of the sport, the better you are going to fare should you decide to bet on boxing. There was a lot of sentimentality in that Thurman number last night, I think.

The majority of the boxing public spent weeks forecasting a Keith Thurman masterclass, and naturally after the stoppage there was widespread shock. I do not engage in fight predictions, and I actively dismiss the gambling ideology that currently dictates how most people consume this sport. The obsession with predicting an outcome reduces a complex physical chess match to a casino game, completely clouded by emotion and tribalism. If the majority stopped trying to guess the future for a payout or for "fun", they might actually understand what is happening in the ring and as a result, truly appreciate the sport.

@mattphilliphall I was trying to pinpoint it myself and I think late 1992 is pretty accurate. ChatGPT seems to agree, based on Ring ratings.

Report from @MoveTheSticks Fernando Mendoza has been training with Brian Griese installing the Raiders offense already “This is like what happened with Joe Burrow, the pick is solidified and he’s getting a head start on learning Kubiak’s offense”
