Continuing his excellent season, he put up a 1.60 GAA, a .933 SV% through 5 starts, along with a 4-1 record and 1 shutout. Consistent and setting the standard every night.

Team WestCan ID/Development Sessions are for 2015 and 2016 birth year athletes only. These sessions are free of charge. Kids just need to bring a strong work ethic and positive attitude, and we will take care of the rest. Ice times will be held on December 29, 2025, at the Chestermere Rec Center. @CertaProOk @Hockey_Robinson Regina won the league and West Regionals, however Moose Jaw and Swift Current could have also won that as well. Schultz is the real deal. He played best against the best teams in the league. He is a 2010 that won the points race going away and was unreal at the Circle K too.

@Hockey_Robinson He was amazing but wish they would fo something with that league as the stats get crazy inflated over other leagues in Western Canada for perspective! It has been this way for years players putting up 100+ seasons beating up on small town teams with double digit scores!

How insanely impressive was Maddox Schultz (2028) this season? He led the U18 SMAAAHL in goals (43), assists (50), and points (93) in 44 games. He also led the playoffs in points (22) in 10 games. He was named Rookie of the Year and MVP He just turned 15 years old.

Well, not a great night for the Hounds, but Steven got the game star for his team. That’s 3 times in the last 4 games he’s played in the SJHL. Hopefully making a bit of a name for himself. #houndshockey

Well it wasn’t a win for the Hounds but Steven did his job 41 saves on 44 shots. Held his team in it until the end against a real strong team in the Humboldt Broncos. #ndhounds

Steven played in his first SJHL game last night. Came on in relief and did his job - didn’t let in a goal. The really cool part is the goalie at the other end was Beck Boiteau, who was the reason Steven originally became a goalie. Something he’ll never forget. #ndhounds

Steven spends a lot of time working on positioning, angles and reading plays. Sometimes though you just need to make a save and all that goes out the window and you do what you’ve got to do to keep the puck out. #houndshockey

Wade Belak’s friendship, personality, selflessness and authenticity had a profound effect on my life. We’d spend off days on weekends together in our backyards. Our kids would play together, swim together. Our wives usually had to drive home. No one laughed like Wade. No one drank coffee or beer faster than Wade. No one helped others like Wade. No one loved his wife and kids more than Wade. Wade was a great big self aware, selfless softy. He loved people. He loved animals. And he loved farting in a car then locking the windows. And he had this confidence in who he was, sans ego, that doesn’t exist in many people. But never abused his privilege. He used it to help others. Playing in the NHL was a means to an end. It was just part of his journey to the destination of being a goat farming financial planner. He loved being around happy people and was never negative, always quietly positive and hopeful. My sons have reverence for his memory. He was larger than life and they liked it when he came to their hockey practices. He was “Uncle Wade” who was pretty good at hockey too. 😂 He loved reading about the Kennedy’s and financial planning and was one of the most financially literate people I’ve ever met. He loved to learn. He was the calmest person in the room in every room he was in. He knew who he was and everyone felt safe around him. Not because he could fight. People felt safe around Wade because he never judged anyone, always advocated for kindness. The right thing and people good to other human beings. I remember these things 13 years after we lost him because those are the only things that matter. I’ll see you again, sir. Until then, thank you.🙏

@blazerhockey Steven got to meet Toledo at Blazers camp last fall. He told all the boys at the beginning some will stay, some will leave but this week you’re all Blazers & I’m at your service. Steven got listed and one of the first people to congratulate him after was Toledo. What a guy.
