Real patriots build their communities up; they don't pull them apart. You can't claim to love our country and then go out and talk it down. In every town and city, there are people helping their neighbours and making things better – I'm on their side.

I’m staying in a hotel in Switzerland, just had breakfast next to an English couple with one child, probably aged 5, he ate his breakfast watching an iPad on the table in front of him. I know this topic is a dangerous one but when are people gong to wake up to how wrong this is?

Children shouldn’t start classes on an empty stomach; that goes without saying. But since when did it become the role of the state to sort pre-school breakfast for children? Isn’t providing your child with breakfast sort of parenting 1.01? Like brushing their teeth at night? If parents are sending their children to school hungry someone needs to call social services. This is neglect. Children arriving at school hungry, teeth rotting, not toilet trained, not communicating… these things are not the role of the state. There’s a parenting crisis in this country.
