For a simple reason, the CJI for now is considered pro govt, though that is the biggest misconception among the masses, the govt. was prepared for this kinda psyops against the country, but BJP as was not ready. BJP as a party has considered themselves as the default govt. everywhere thus there SM team got relaxed. They never thought BJP as a party would be targeted this time and not the BJP government in any state or centre.
