Nearly 400 people joined us in honoring the life and legacy of fallen hometown hero Sgt. 1st Class Ryan A. Gloyer (SV '00) who died courageously in battle in Afghanistan in 2016. The Seneca Valley Foundation (SVF) welcomed participants, families and community members to the first Ryan Gloyer Memorial Run/Walk in memory of Sgt. Gloyer's work ethic, drive and resilience. On a beautiful fall morning, the Memorial Run was held as an opportunity to share the attitudes and beliefs that make Sgt. Gloyer a role model for everyone in the Seneca Valley School District. Proceeds from the race go toward continued programming at Ryan Gloyer Middle School (RGMS), including future assemblies that feature Ryan's story for students (assembly photos can be seen in the following photo gallery). The Gloyer family also plans to generate a scholarship in partnership with the SVF for graduating seniors at Seneca Valley. Many thanks to the SVF for a successful and inspirational event!
