First-grade students at Monterey Elementary School hosted their much-anticipated Market Day this week. Community members and loved ones were invited to shop while these young entrepreneurs proudly sold the unique merchandise they created.

Hayes Intermediate students celebrated their accomplishments at the Amazing Lunch at South Western Career Academy, where Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management students prepared and served a special meal.

Holt Crossing Intermediate fifth graders from the Henning, Thornton and Holman team visited SWACO to learn about recycling, waste management and how landfills operate. Thank you to SWACO for the hands-on learning experience for our students.

Finland Elementary’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Title I Night brought families together for an evening of reading, games, activities, special guests, and community fun after students read the book at home and in class. A great celebration of literacy and learning!

Darbydale Elementary School 2nd graders recently brought history, literature and influential figures to life during their Literary Wax Museum. This annual museum is a fun and engaging way to combine research, writing and presentation skills all in one experience.

Wednesday night’s intradistrict baseball game between the Greyhounds and Comets showcased not only strong play on the field, but also meaningful connections before the game as Greyhound students came together for an inclusive night on the diamond.
