Olympics Round 2 Recap 💰 Great rounds from Xander, Fleetwood and Rahm. Matsuyama double bogey on 18 brought some more guys into the mix for the remainder of the event. This is a no-cut event so we will see everyone tomorrow! Assumption Analysis 💻 Went with a -1.0 average to par assumption for Round 2. The actual ended up at -1.20. That gives us back to back rounds at essentially the same average to par (-1.18 and -1.20). The weather continues to look good for scoring so we will see what lines we get for Round 3. 🎯 Betting Recap 📈 Overall, FanDuel lines went 9-5 on unders. If you look a little deeper, morning players went 4-1, afternoon 5-4. Most have bumped down by now but here's a quick visualization comparing Round 1 Play to FanDuel's Round 2 Opening Lines. 📈 Sometimes its important to visualize the offered bets as a whole. Olympics Round 1 Recap ⛳️ The first round concludes with Hideki Matsuyama atop the leaderboard. Hideki gained 6.8 strokes against the field and had a bogey-free round. 🔥 Assumption Analysis 💻 Early in the week, the forecast projected 15-20 mph gusts for the afternoon split of golfers. However, as the round neared, the gusts dropped off dramatically, leaving no real weather effects for Round 1. France has had a wet summer thus far, and we knew the course would play easier. Additionally, the skill level of this field compared to any DPWT historical field is significantly stronger. My final assumption for average to par for Round 1 was -0.4, with a slight advantage to the morning players.
