Today I talked about the technology behind red dot sights and explained what causes the parallax. The biggest challenge is precisely maintaining the outer and inner diameters of the lens, which aligns incoming light with the reflected light from the LED. Used this vid as a demo.

Was nosing around optics for sale as I do when im bored. Saw an ad for a MIL DOT SFP optic and they have this nice little diagram.... ... *sigh* Diagrams are difficult to draft apparently. ( I'll give you a hint--- those dots are awful big if the measurment is to be trusted....)

@nikgeneburn The XM8 is a neat rifle but if I'm not mistaken it is effectively a reskinned G36 - if you did not wish for the gun to be it's own rifle you could probably do a parts kit for the G36 rifle. I think Tommy Built used to make swaps for them in the United states.

@Snakeeater36 I only use 1 round per mag and carry 250 mags. Thats the best way to make sure your springs stay perfect forever.
