Robert Hadden, an OB-GYN employed by Columbia University, was mentioned in the Epstein files over ten times. Columbia trustees just paid out over $1 billion dollars to Hadden’s victims, who trusted him to provide medical care.

Rather than following the law, bargaining in good faith, and settling a fair contract that preserves the integrity of an NYU education, our bosses are recruiting scab instructors. If you're asked, just say no.

A year ago, Mahmoud Khalil was abducted because he spoke out against the government’s actions—while being an immigrant. While being Palestinian. And while being a New Yorker. We will continue to stand up to protect students and all of our neighbors—and freedom of speech.

For Mahmoud Khalil, this past year has been marked by profound hardship—and by profound courage. A year ago, Mahmoud was walking home through our city after sharing an iftar with his wife Noor when he was detained by federal agents, flown to Louisiana, and then held in an ICE facility for months. In that time, he was forced to miss the birth of his first child. All of this for exercising his First Amendment rights in protesting the ongoing genocide in Palestine. And yet, even in the face of that cruelty, there has also been beauty. New Yorkers raising their voices in solidarity. A city refusing to look away. Mahmoud won his freedom, and a father was finally reunited with his child. Last night, as we marked the one year anniversary of his detention, Rama and I were honored to welcome Mahmoud, Noor, and their son Deen to Gracie Mansion to break our fast together. Mahmoud is a New Yorker, and he belongs in New York City.

We want a new contract that would safeguard our rights to protest and speech: cops off campus, limits to surveillance, fairer disciplinary processes, and academic freedom. And we continue to push for CU’s divestment from entities complicit in violations of international law.

We demand that CU accept the ruling and decline to appeal it. And we call again for amnesty for all students currently serving or facing sanctions for their pro-Palestine speech and activism.

Hind’s Hall protesters win a legal victory, but the fight continues! A NY State Supreme Court judge vacated Columbia’s “arbitrary and capricious” discipline against 22 activists accused of occupying Hind’s Hall in 2024, including suspensions, expulsions, and degree revocations.
