@michaelmoslin Peter was asked to stay as a token gesture as the BBC didn't have a female actor ready and wanted Moffat to ride it out a bit longer. Moffat said no and Peter refused to stay without Steven. So they both left.

Some are shocked when I say I dont like Moffat, but if you were deep in the trenches of SuperWhoLock like i was, then you would remember that Moffat hated our guts. He was the showrunner of Doctor Who and Co creator of BBC Sherlock and he treated us fans like shit all the time.
