The Department of Water has closed Lodi St from John St to Butternut St and Ash St from Josephine St to N McBride St. Crews are on site 8 AM till later this evening today for water main repair. The streets will remain closed until repairs are made with detours in place.

The City of Syracuse Department of Water is working to repair a water main on North Geddes Street. North Geddes Street from Genesee Street and Kilpatrick Street will be closed for a few days for road restoration. Sidewalks remain open and traffic detours are in place.

West Kirkpatrick St. bridge over Onondaga Creek will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, March 9 for repairs. Pedestrians still remain to have access to the bridge. Drivers may experience delays; Detours will follow Van Rensselaer St., Spencer St., and Solar St.

Mayor Walsh has issued a snow safety alert as the first significant snowfall arrives. A lake effect snow warning is in effect until 7 a.m. Saturday. The “Home for the Holidays” tree lighting will still take place today at 6 p.m. in Clinton Square. Visit bit.ly/3JQwWLf.

Trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day on Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s pickup moves to Friday, and Frid's pick up moves to Saturday. The DPW yard waste drop-off at 1200 Canal St. will also be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28.

Parking restrictions will be in effect starting Nov. 1, in parts of Downtown Syracuse. On designated blocks, overnight on-street parking will alternate and be limited to one side. The requirements allow snowplows to clear streets between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
