#MeersbrookBankPrimary’s #EcoCouncil identified places to park for a #ParkAndStride to encourage parking away from school at pick up and drop off times 👍🏼 They then skipped back to school through the park in the beautiful spring sunshine 🌞 ~ SY STARS Team

#FoxhillPrimaryEcoTeam were total stars today, putting up posters along Keats Rd, to remind parents to turn off their engines, travel actively to school & park sensibly at drop off/pick up - it was a great day in the 2nd of our #CleanAirCrew workshops & look forward to next month

We challenged our Sheffield schools to celebrate the festive season by decorating their School Street planters. Pupils showed off their fantastic creativity with recycled & handmade decorations, with the winning entry created by #CarfieldPrimary Well done everyone! ✨

The Eco Team at Oughtibridge Primary School have made some brilliant posters displayed on their school railings. These encourage parents and pupils to travel actively where possible and to avoid idling and pavement parking 👍🏼

STARS Coordinator Zoe ran a #BeBrightBeSeen assembly at #OughtibridgePrimary about the importance of wearing bright, reflective clothing when it's dark! She also supported the Eco Council to make posters for school railings encouraging pupils & parents to travel actively.

Pupils at #PipworthCommunityPrimary did an #ActiveTravel Inspection to assess the suitability of their school environment for active travel, looking at cycle/scooter parking, suitable places to cross the road, green spaces to enjoy and where there were barriers to active travel

The Nature Group at #AnnsGrovePrimary added some new plants to their planters. They did this whilst wearing hats donated by the #TotleyRiseMethodistChurch Knit & Natter, Craft & Chatter Group, and end up turning a dull day into a colourful one!

Last week our School Engagement Coordinator Zoe ran an #ActiveTravel lesson at #BradwayPrimarySchool Pupils enjoyed discussions on the benefits of #ActiveTravel & made pledges about what they would do to travel to school actively more often 👍🏼

Last Friday STARS School Engagement Coordinator Zoe ran a bike session for foundation age pupils at @BankwoodSchool - they had great fun w/ games, practicing their balance & steering... & learning to ride at a young age can develop other motor skills like handwriting earlier!

On Friday 14th November we held a fantastic celebration of our Sheffield @TeamModeshift schools at the @SheffCouncil Town Hall. The Lord Mayor joined us to present awards and we want to say again a big WELL DONE to all our winners ✅ ~ SY Stars Team

They discovered that cars parked on pavements, bins & clutter on the pavement & a lack of cycle infrastructure made it harder to travel actively to school, but cycle storage, zebra crossings & local footpaths & parks made it easier & more enjoyable to travel actively 👍🏼

Recently the #EcoTeameam at @OughtibridgeP worked with @TeamModeshift on an #ActiveTravel inspection, assessing their school and local area to see what helps and hinders pupils and families to travel actively to school (continued in the comments...)

Today at #AnnsGrovePrimary #ActiveTravelBreakfast, Betty, the @TeamModeshift School Engagement Coordinator, provided the music, raffle, stickers and wristbands, whilst Kay & the kitchen staff provided the food & some cool dance moves! A great start to the week! #SYStarsTeam

#SYStars delivered cycle skills sessions today at @OughtibridgeP; pupils practised their steering, braking, balance & had fun doing an obstacle course & the slowest bike race 🚲 We hope this helps more pupils to cycle to school, stay active & lead to cleaner air & safer streets

A new term and new activities - Joy and Rosie were out with the junior leadership team from Sheffield #AstreaPrimary this week on a 5 minute walk zone activity ~ SY Stars Team

Our JRSOs were delighted to receive their trophies and certificates for finishing runners up in the citywide road safety video competition which promoted keeping safe and active travel. Well done! @sccactivetravel @SY_STARSAwards

Team Members George and Rosie ran #CleanAirCrew sessions for all classes at #NetherGreenInfants yesterday. After discussions and learning about clean air, we made and decorated air pollution catchers 🙌🏼 ~ SY Stars Team
