As a primarily English content creator, every single day there is someone telling me, "Bhai do content in Hindi". The reasons range from "you'll get better reach" to "andhbhakts don't understand English" to "the people you need to educate are Hindi speakers". For years, I used to buy these arguments and feel guilty about doing content in English. I even tried to start writing in Hindi, doing Hindi podcasting etc. All because of this constant feedback. In the Indian youtube scene, it has almost become conventional wisdom that if you do Hindi content, you will go viral. And therefore, everyone just sticks to Hindi and judges people who do English. Someone had actually told me it's stupid to do content in English in country like India. So tired of hearing this again and again. It's getting a bit triggering at this point honestly. I feel like it's time to take a stand against this. I am now saying out loud every chance I get that I will *not* do Hindi content. There are enough non-Hindi speakers out there who I can reach through English. And I will do it for them. I personally feel more comfortable expressing myself in English and I will continue to do that. Even if it somehow restricts my reach or gets me a limited audience, doesn't matter. Just wanted to say: I am an ENGLISH speaking content creator, have an ENGLISH youtube channel and it will be that way. Cheers! 🖖
