If affluent populations should eat less/better meat, it's partly so that those who are less fortunate can eat *more* while we manoevre the food system back within planetary boundaries. Refusal to do so is a form of neo-colonial privilege.

Good to see the FAO's sham livestock emissions report scrutinised. Unpopular as the truth may be, dietary change towards less/better meat has the potential to deliver *significant* GHG savings from the food system, as part of a wider packet of reform. theguardian.com/environment/20…

Sure some science describes the world but only so we can change it - predict and control. Education is a design science - about shaping the future. What will actually help us flourish individually and collectively? Research is needed. Dialogue is needed.

Interesting thread but wrong. That research is about changing the world is USA pragmatism and obvious. The problem is how we decide on the change. Research on human flourishing + design workshops with stakeholders might be better for this than uncritically applying EDI ideology.

A university is defined by what it deems most important, & this can be seen in what it is researching & teaching. It can evolve drastically over time as when modern secular colleges emerged from religious institutions. I posit something new has emerged in recent history. THREAD.
