Prompt 4 is a present-day aerial photograph of the Canning Graving Docks by Stratus Imagery. What might it look like in the future? The present graving docks were originally constructed in 1765-9, and they have undergone various repairs and modifications over the centuries.

Prompt 3 is a newspaper clipping of a marriage announcement in the Liverpool Mercury from 1814. Canning graving dock was given as the address: 'MARRIED. A few days ago, Capt. Thos. Ellis, of the brig Favourite, to Mrs Mary Brian, of the Ben Jonson, south end of the Dry Dock.'
