America is dotted with mid-sized regional hub cities like Chattanooga that are in general the closest to a best of all possible worlds as far as urban life/rural life mixture a place can get, lots of cultural activities and cool urban aesthetics with generally more manageable traffic and lower cost of living than the “big” cities. People in the big cities spend much of their time shitting on these lovely manageably sized regional hubs because they’ve never been to them and are by and large the most provincial closed minded people you’ll ever meet

Facing my consumerist habits bc I decided I wanted a baggu after years of fighting the influence and I don’t like any of the current designs and refuse to spend more than $100 on a scalped nylon bag so instead I’m simply. Not getting one. For now at least.

While I tend to agree, listening and reading to the same book has improved my ability to finish books. Listening to GOT while driving and doing chores and then being able to read the physical copy has helped me chug right through it.

@kennybeats Theres a spot in Norfolk, VA called Skinnies and it’s very similar. 10/10 experience if you give the owner a chance to yap about his interests and don’t go hunting for shit you can find at target, per his critiques of other customers 😭

Has anyone in LA ever been to this shop? It has a 1.9 star review on Yelp. The hundreds of bad reviews talk about the owners being impatient, berating customers for browsing; even hurling insults at potential buyers for their lack of music knowledge. The occasional good reviews all say they came in for specific purchases, the owner told them the same story about his collection and then they leave. I went a few years ago randomly after walking by, I ended up with a record but it was a pretty brutal experience honestly. 1/2
