Membership Mon.: Travis Kidd first learned there were different kinds of birds at 8. His uncle gave him a bird guide & binocs; so began a lifelong obsession. In 2010, he moved to Bozeman to study Science & Nature History Filmmaking. Since 2017, he’s SAS Ed Chair and Board Member.

Guttural calls by the Sandhills can be heard in the Gallatin valley announcing migration from winter areas. Mated for life unless a mate dies; it will look for a new mate in the spring (as will older juveniles). Mating behavior includes stretching wings, bowing heads and leaping.
