I've been testing it and: 📎 The change in aspect ratio makes the game take up less screen space, so I just fixed it by cropping the screen. Quality remains the same 😃 📎 You lose the black bars durinmg cutscenes 🎞️

So, Ico runs at an internal resolution of 512×256, which makes the game blurry when adapted to the screen. But if you right click on the game on PCSX2 and enable this patch the game doesn't look blurry and the camera movement feels less choppy.

@becsoda @corebinz @TeamTributeSotC It's possible that Bluepoint just used random pieces of dialogue and do not know the language (in the PS3 version there's a colossus description that doesn't match the original). Any chance to decipher how 'yuan-vir' translates to 'colossus'?

@corebinz @TeamTributeSotC I did this! (Attaching screenshots of progress.) Here is the (rough) phonetic breakdown and translation. 1. eh-koo-nah -> Iku na (Do not go) 2: iss-koy -> Issho koi (Come with us) 3: ico-eeyo -> Ikou yo (Let's go together) also known as: 行くな. 一緒来い. 行こうよ

Making a texture is easy and this is how I translate a PS2 texture into HD for my texture packs. After I'm done, I let it rest for a couple of days, then come back to compare it to the original and fix the small details.

@Nockolisk Thanks. But the bolts belong to a different photo that was placed on top of the container image, and it cannot be lit from the botton as it would clash with the game's sun position. I know there's a container model with the pattern, but couldn't find the photo I wanted 😶

@Sad_Origami This looks good as a reinterpretation, but the original is clearly lit from the bottom right based on the bolts, which are also more irregular there. This also seems to imply the upper/lower parts should be corrugated with a kind of sawtooth pattern rather than looking like bars.

@Sad_Origami Funny thing most of textures from ps1 to ps2 era were just simple photo manipulate tricks which makes the game having more details but now everything is made with substance and looks too plastic or non real.
