I'm not suggesting this because I think I'm smarter than most people. I've just noticed that even widely accepted ideas and dogmas have turned out to be wrong before — and you don't need a PhD to recognize patterns that have repeated throughout history. Medical researchers have documented many clear examples where groups experienced real stress, symptoms, or division from exactly this kind of dynamic. My main concern is that when these kinds of group processes take hold, they can end up causing unnecessary strain or harm to a lot of people.
