@SamboMaiHula Tukur road is a very dangerous place to walk especially at nights and early in the mornings. A former colleague of mine was attacked and nearly got stabbed along that Tukur road a few years back, It was early in the morning. Phone snatchers are worse than pick pockets.

Yesterday, around 9:30 to 10 pm, I encountered phone snatchers on Tukur Road near the Kano Race Course Polo Club while I was leaving the 1410 Hotel after a few conversations with a friend. He had insisted on dropping me off, but I refused, telling him I would just walk along and stop at Barakat Stores to get a few things. If I had allowed him to drop me off, If i had knew what would happen i would have allowed him As I was walking down the street, I noticed three men standing on the roadside. I thought they were regular police officers, not realizing they were phone snatchers. I continued walking and made a phone call without thinking twice. In an instant, the three men surrounded me, holding some kind of sharp object in their hands. I remained calm and cut the phone call. I looked at the one who seemed to be their leader and handed him my phone. I was certain that if I made any move, one of them would definitely stab me, which would be a waste of my life. This was the iPhone I had intended to give my junior sister as a gift for passing her exams, while I plan on getting myself another one. The saddest part of all this is that they would sell my phone for nothing more than 200k because it would be very difficult to bypass its security. I had bought this phone for a million plus, and now they have put me in a situation where I have to spend another million plus to get another one. Allah ya isa wallahi.

Maybe it was love, maybe temptation, maybe the tricks of the devil, but that still doesn’t make this right. Men, where is your conscience? Where is your faith? Don’t you think she has parents, siblings, & a family who will see this? How would you feel if the same thing happened to your own sister, the one you see as pure & honorable & suddenly her video is everywhere on the internet? Wallahi, this is unfair (oppression).
