The Information Commissioner's backlog investigating complaints is now an eye-watering NINE months.

Not only that, the decision by the IPC-cell in March 2020 to pretend that Covid was spread by droplet not aerosol left NHS staff even more poorly protected. And that decision endures.
I'm looking forward to the Hillsborough Law being passed.

The PCR positivity map is out and there's been reassuringly little change since last week.
NHS stats show covid beds have bounced back up again from their low of mid-June, but only to the level we saw earlier in the year.

Another discussion on the number of people out of the workforce sick on @radio4 #today without a single mention of covid, long covid or the pandemic. Numbers were actually decreasing before 2020.

It should not be left to individuals to glean snippets of information via Freedom of Information from public authorities who obfuscate and delay (UKHSA/HSE/NHS-E in particular).

But a big shout-out for the staff of Palm Ward, Barnet Hospital caring for my 101yo mother-in-law after a heart attack last week.
They're really doing their best, providing excellent care under difficult circumstances – keeping her cool with fans.

These duties are subject to the ‘reasonably practicable’ qualifier (which allows some consideration of cost, time and trouble).
While one can argue not 'rp' to provide massive widespread aircon overnight, doctors are saying their Trusts aren't even providing fans! come off it!!!

The NHS has often been described as in melt down, especially since the IPC disaster of 13/3/20.
'Melt-down' takes a poignant meaning given the state of our hospitals this week.
