@AlexMBateau Yes, our page serves primarily students and similar that have negative experiences with people in power within academia.

@SafeFacultyProj does your project mostly focus on graduate students? I haven’t been able to find any content on faculty who are experiencing harassment?

When you are experiencing abuse within academia, the best thing you can do to start protecting yourself is documentation! 1/8

@JRandal76 @LaurVieEnRose It really depends on your program and the faculty members. I’ve seen many students transition labs and many others who leave the program altogether as well. The reasons you present for your reasons for switching labs don’t have to be your real reasons either. Protect yourself.

@katestorrs @aifbw Yup! Our purpose to highlight how it is directly related to the mentor-mentee relationship, but it can other reasons, too. It's important to reflect on whether the feelings are advisor-specific, program-wide, or broader.

@aifbw @SafeFacultyProj Yes, I've felt all these but my lab environments have been fine. Can also be flags for depression / generalised anxiety / rejection sensitive dysphoria / etc.. (which is part of why it can be difficult to figure out whether it's "you or them" A good advisor will help either way!)
