A survey from the @DietwiseProject revealed that consumers not only waste food that could have been eaten but also money. 🗑️ DietWise is developing RecipeWatch, a free app powered by AI that helps plan meals, pick healthier and more sustainable recipes, and cut food waste.📱

At SAFE, we believe that inclusion starts with food. Through our #Food4Inclusion project, we train young children to identify health risks in diets and we encourage them to adopt healthier habits. In parallel, our #HealthyMeal project promotes social inclusion through a network of restaurants that offer sustainable and healthy meals at affordable prices for disadvantaged people. Because eating should not be a luxury. It is a right. ❤️ 🥗

Today’s #EPSCO council is raising a key question for inclusion. Persistent cost-of-living pressures, economic instability, and financial insecurity are pushing many families into social exclusion in the EU. For many families this can turn into food insecurity and unhealthy diets, with long-lasting consequences for children and adults. 👨‍👩‍👦

#InternationalWomensDay reminds us that equality must include access to food. Women are more likely to face food insecurity. In Wallonia, 14% of women (around 1 in 7) skip meals so a child or loved one can eat. Through the EU-funded #Food4Inclusion project, we work to ensure equal access to nutritious, affordable food. 📈 The current instability should not be used by retailers and distribution to increase prices again without justification. It is essential for the EU to be able to monitor price formation through the food chain efficiently, through strengthened market monitoring mechanisms in EU law, including fines for deliberate market distortions.

Following the episode of baby formula contaminated by toxin #cereulide that triggered recalls in 7 European countries, @EFSA_EU and the @ECDC_EU recommend to: ↪️ Return all products to the point of sale ❌ Avoid feeding them to infants and young children 🔎 Remain vigilant for symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea 📝 Follow national recommendations Risks remain low or moderate.

We must work together to reduce the consumption of #UPFs and encourage the consumption of minimally processed foods. We need action to protect public health. 🏥 👧

Today, we attended the Food Drink Partnership Days 2026, an industry-led conference in Brussels, to discuss the health risks posed by ultra-processed foods #UPFs. 📢 We say loud and clear: public concern about the negative health impact of UPFs is NOT irrational, it is based on abundant science.
